Kadamakudy is a cluster of islands on Kochi’s edge, reachable by road and a short local ferry hop. Here’s exactly how to get there, and what to expect once you do.
Kadamakudy is roughly 40 minutes by road from central Kochi, connected by bridges and a short local ferry crossing in parts. Aquarius Adventures’ kayaking point is inside the islands, close to Puthussery Pokkali Padam – we share the exact pin location and last-mile directions once you book.
No confusing detours – here’s the route most of our paddlers take.
What Makes Kadamakudy Different From Other Kochi Backwaters
It’s not scenery alone, it’s a working island landscape.
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet, and shoes that can go in water – sandals or old sneakers work well. Sunrise tours run cooler; sunset tours are warmer and more humid.
Safety note: Routes through Kadamakudy’s creeks are only run with a guide present – self-paddling without supervision isn’t offered, for safety reasons specific to tidal timing in these channels. Non-swimmers are welcome with a life jacket and guide supervision, but should inform staff at the time of booking so the right route and support can be arranged.
Send us your preferred date and we’ll confirm the slot along with exact directions to the launch point.
